Our teachers are, first and foremost, schoolmasters
At Guido Carli we employ a highly skilled teaching staff, who, in addition to a wide range of academic, professional and teaching qualifications, also boast the technical and organizational requisites necessary to provide leadership in the classroom.
Each teacher will assist his/her students in the formation of their critical thinking capacities: the ability to assess knowledge by going directly to the source. In fact, if knowledge is derived from primary sources it generates a more profound cultural experience: true and conscious personal growth and a constant enrichment of one’s worldview.
And that’s why, at Guido Carli, you’ll encounter authentic schoolmasters. Not just academically competent teachers, but teachers with a gift for teaching, capable of transmitting the basic principles of their subject matter thoroughly and skillfully, providing their students with a platform for further investigation and research.
Tutorship and coaching
The role of the tutor/coach is a crucial one: experienced teachers in their own subject area, they combine their expertise with a capacity for empathy and flexibility in order to supervise their students throughout the course, as they develop their personal portfolios.
A “learning contract”, clearly defining the commitments of the respective parties, the reciprocal expectations, and the code of ethics and rules and regulations that all parties are expected to comply with, is stipulated between the student, the head teacher, the tutor and the family. This ensures that students remain highly motivated and helps to prevent potential failures – thus avoiding the waste of human, intellectual and economic resources. The “contract” will also sanction any joint decisions to invest in specific subjects and courses, while guaranteeing the student the opportunity to make up for any poor results. Alternatively, in the event that a student decides to abandon the course, a special system of credits will be defined, allowing him/her to make use of the partial results obtained when applying for acceptance into other educational systems/institutions.
An additional Department will be responsible for developing a credit system designed to maximize the value of the skills acquired by students both in Italy and abroad.
