The Departments develop their teaching strategies on the basis of three fundamental principles which are considered to be essential elements in providing students with all the educational tools they require to realize their professional and human potential to the full:
- unifying concepts
- general/key skills
- the core principles of each individual subject
In particular, the unifying concepts (which have been partly adapted from the Next Generation Science Standards, recently developed in the United States with the aim of creating a foundation for scientific learning based on content knowledge, the practical skills necessary for understanding and solving problems, and the contextualization of scientific knowledge as a major cultural phenomenon that characterizes contemporary societies) represent the cornerstone underpinning a truly integrated educational approach, which starts from an interdepartmental teaching project that guides planning at both departmental and individual level, as well as the hands-on teaching methods adopted in the classroom by each teacher.

IT DEPARTMENT: Our information technology systems guarantee the evolution of teaching methods and enable the school to communicate with any part of the globe, which, as well as enhancing the identity of the school, also repesents a significant strategic and “marketing” tool. A small working group ensures the quality and coordination of communication activities, web marketing, and social networking, in both Italian and English.
EDUCATIONAL TEAM: A team of five dedicated teachers deals with educational issues, covering areas such as students who have specific learning disorders requiring special educational strategies and support. The department is augmented by an external expert, and the school management ensures that students receive the supervision the need for as long as they need it.
