In order to boost the development of the system, and promote the “entrapreneurial” spirit, while not neglecting the students’ cultural development ……

we aim to focus on the development of partnerships at international level, consolidate the methodological approach to teaching, launch a scientific journal in digital format, provide extra-curricular study courses when requested by middle school students, and develop the cultural (contemporary art, theatre, musical season, choir) and social (community, cultural and environmental voluntary work) activities already included in the syllabus.

In order to gain admission to prestigious international business schools, students must have an excellent school curriculum and demonstrate a passion for knowledge and a commitment to learning, as well as flexibility, open-mindedness, and a global vision, a proactive approach, and the ability to develop critical thinking, and focus on and interpret the major issues relating to the management of issues and ‘global’ scenarios; entrepreneurship, a positive attitude to competitiveness and the challenges posed by new knowledge, new markets, new professions.

During their final year, some students will complete a part of their studies abroad, including some in non-European countries.

Brescia City Council also provides support in organizing trips and cultural exchanges with its twin cities of Troyes, Logroño and Darmstadt.

This year we are already planning to repeat the trips to Chester, Valencia, Graz and Troyes; the trips lasted for two weeks and saw the participation of all our students.

Other projects are related to the development of non-European languages (Chinese, Japanese, Russian).

Other cultural projects

The Lyceum’s main initiatives in this area are concentrated on promoting the students’ appreciation of theatrical performances, as well active participation in theatre workshops; unlocking the secrets of contemporary art; providing experience of the world of business, both in Italy and abroad (for example, initiatives such as the AIB promoted SME Day, and guided tours of companies in a variety of geographical and cultural contexts, designed to make students more aware of the cultural differences underlying diverse organizational and production models); and internationalization, through the development of respect for “otherness”, by means of specific educational programs aimed at the promoting the appreciation of diversity and differences, and through the organization of cultural exchanges and trips abroad.

We have also started the “Galileo’s telescope” project, which encourages our pupils to explore the themes of energy efficiency and renewable energy, with the aim of developing a research project in close cooperation with local businesses. The formulation of an integrated curriculum represents both the main input and, at the same time, the result of the process in terms of the applied methodology. As a result of this project, we were invited to participate on the relevant Ministerial Commission.

Finally, in June 2012, we entered into a four-year agreement with the Dante Alighieri Society of Rome, resulting in the Lyceum being recognized as a PLIDA certification centre (competence in Italian as a second language) for foreign students and adults.
